Have a real tour

Vid provided guide services whilst my wife and I were on holiday for the first time in Croatia.
He spent almost a whole day with us and was an absolute pleasure to be with. His deep knowledge of Croatia, its history and culture was spellbinding and delivered in a style that was both engaging and stimulating enabling us to learn and enjoy the whole experience to its maximum.
We would absolutely recommend him for those who want a superb tour guide who understands how to make your holiday even more memorable.

My family had the pleasure of spending two days with an exceptional guide, Vid K, in Dubrovnik on our recent trip Croatia. Vid’s depth of knowledge about the city and country’s history, culture and hidden gems was impressive.  He shared this with us in a way that was both engaging and easy to follow.  He did not just recite facts, however, brought the city to life with stories and insights. Vid was also very warm, personable, and attentive, making sure everyone in our group felt included and had a great experience. We would highly recommend Vid as someone who is knowledgeable and enjoyable to spend time with, it will certainly enhance your time spent in Croatia in the best possible way.

My family has lived inside these walls for over 300 years.

I don’t offer tours of Dubrovnik. I offer something rarer — a private door, opened by someone who was born into this city’s story.

Three centuries of family presence inside the old city walls

Most visitors to Dubrovnik see the same walls, hear the same stories, and leave with the same photographs. That is not a criticism — Dubrovnik’s official history is extraordinary. But it is not the whole story.

The whole story lives in the families that never left. In the chapels that tourists never enter. In the language of a republic that maintained its independence for 450 years by being, among other things, the most diplomatically sophisticated city-state in the Mediterranean.

My family was part of that republic. We still are — in the only way that counts. We still live here, inside the walls, in the house we have always occupied, beside the chapel we have always kept. When I guide you through Dubrovnik, I am not recounting history. I am introducing you to mine.

No other guide can open this door. It belongs to my family, and it has for three hundred years. My guests are not tourists here. They are visitors.

→ The Chapel — what it is, why it exists, and what it means to step inside

We have traveled extensively and taken many private tours. This was in a different category entirely. When he took us into the chapel, I realised we were not on a tour. We were guests.
